Evidence of oxygen at 2.3 b.y. (press release also available here. Beware: it is nonsense to say that because there is oxygen in the atmosphere, there must have been life on land. There may be other evidence not written in the press release, of course, but on the face of it, this is extending far beyond the evidence presented.
