MODERN & ANCIENT GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE

COURSE OBJECTIVE: To introduce students to the fundamental geologic concepts underlying global warming and our current climate issues. What we know about the potential impact of current climate change is evaluated in the longer-term context of past climate disruption brought on by natural processes over the past half billion years. In order to more fully understand how Earth tumbles into, experiences and recovers from such major climate change, the course reviews the physical, chemical and biologic processes that together control Earth's climate and the health of its living component.

Spring Quarter, 2008

Office Hours: Wed.9:30 to 11 pm; Thurs. 4:30 to 6 pm.
