The City of Davis is a small, friendly college town, located in the Sacramento Valley, 15 miles (25 km) west of Sacramento and 74 miles (123 km) east of San Francisco and the Bay Area. There are abundant opportunities for cultural, sports and recreational activities, with more than 50 miles of bicycle paths, and close proximity to the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Yosemite National Park, the seashore of the Pacific Ocean, the historic Mother Lode, and the famed wine country of Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
