Ecogeomorphology of Rivers and Streams is only open to advanced undergraduates and graduate students in biological and physical sciences and engineering. The class meets one day a week for three hours at a time. Each student is required to present a peer-reviewed technical report by the end of the quarter that summarizes an assigned issue. The reports are aggregated into a class website.

The field portion of this course is subsidized by the Presidential Chair in Undergraduate Education and the Shlemon Chair in Applied Geoscience. Costs for transportation, food, and the river outfitter are approximately $1850 per student. Each student attending the course will receive a grant to defray a portion of their costs.

This course is listed in the UCD Class Schedule as GEL 136: Ecogeomorphology of Rivers and Streams. Enrollment is by instructor consent only. If interested, you must contact either Dr. Jeffrey Mount or Dr. Peter Moyle. Send a statement of interest and a summary of your background.

Students are encouraged to visit websites from previous class trips in order to familiarize themselves with requirements and demands.
