Not all geophysics can be done from a computer terminal. Sometimes, you need to look at some real rocks, and sometimes you might even want some real data -- or at least that's the excuse I've been using to do a little traveling. I've been very lucky to have the opportunity to visit and learn about some of the worlds most amazing geology in places close-by like the Mojave Desert, Sierras and the Grand Canyon, and places a little farther away like Katmai National Park in Alaska, New Zealand, Hawaii and South Africa.

This is really out of date... hopefully I'll get a chance soon to update this with recent travel. Magali, 2007
